Good Morning Peeps!
All is calm and peaceful this early morning here in the Music City and here in my Haven.. I can smell my freshly brewed Hazelnut coffee and I can't wait to have my first cup! There is something so relaxing and soothing about having my morning coffee while sitting down writing about my thoughts, feelings, inspirations, and what ever comes to mind. They kind of walk hand in hand.
Last night I performed in a writers round hosted by Kelly and Allen Shervelle(Super Awesome Peeps) with one of my truly talented friends...Brittany Mason at one of Nashvilles most versatile Music Venues for Writers Nights at 360 Burger. What I think is great is that you get a variety of styles of songs performed by all different levels of songwriters. In a way it reminds me of what Nashville is known for besides Country Music...but for it's songwriters. After all this is the Music City.
I was talking with one of my songwriting Peeps last night and he asked me....how long have you lived here? I said...for over 20 years. I told him that when I originally moved here to Nashville it was never a thought in my mind that this would be a place I would want to live. In fact I remember driving on the Interstate 65S heading South when all of a sudden as I looked to the right and saw the downtown city view... I had this feeling inside of me that was strong about the city I was seeing outside my passenger door window. Thinking to myself there is something about this City that feels right. I kept driving. The feeling disappeared the further I went south of the city. Eventually I ended up here in Nashville! Believe it or not....it wasn't for the music. That didn't happen till over five years ago...that is an exciting story all by itself....
Sitting here thinking about that conversation and how things evolved in my Life over time since that day......makes me think of my Silver Lining for today.
We may not know what the future holds, and the things that happen today may not be planned, and the things of the past can eventually have an effect on the future. Eventually the path we travel and the Journey we're taking eventually unfolds and leads us to where we a re supposed to be. Meanwhile we keep following our hearts and living life with open arms.
My thought is....
It's not in my time but in God's time! So...I will keep following my heart and trust that I will be exactly where I need to be when it's time. Peeps as the sun is beginning to rise....have an awesome Thursday and I will catch you on the Flipside!
