Good Morning Peeps!
It is a rainy start of the day here in Nashville, but the temp is feeling great because of the cool down of the rain and the breeze that is blowing through the early morning air! No complaints here...I love Nature's natural Silver Lining, along with my own positive perception and great cup of coffee.
This week I will be wrapping up my time off from my surgery as the Doctor has released me to go back to work next week! Which is a great thing! Plus I will be performing at the Whiskey Rhythm Saloon in a round with Opal Justice and Kat Lee Jones for Brittany Mason's awesome Thursday Writer's Night on Aug. 4th at 8:30pm. It will be a challenging week because I still need to be mindful that I am still healing inside and I will be doing more strenuous activities than my body is used to at this level of healing. Like every step I have taken to get better each day....this to will pass as the normality will kick in and my body gets stronger and is healed. I need to remember to be patient, attentive, and aware of my progress as I take it one day at a time! I'm just excited to start to getting back to my Life activities.
Just the other day I received a message back that I had sent off about a year ago from a place in Fla called the Miami Bridge...which is a half way house for the youth who have been sexually and physically abused and are in between homes and are waiting to be placed somewhere. When I was about 12 yrs old I was one of the youth that was there for a couple of months while going through different court proceedings because of a step father sexually abusing me. Then I had to go through court proceedings for me to be placed somewhere. It was a very scary moment in my life and took a tow on me emotionally. Thank goodness for two of my angels who worked there....an onsite counselor named Cindy and a cook named Brenda. These two ladies showed so much compassion, patience, encouragement, and genuinely cared for my well being as they did for all the kids who were there.
Last year after writing my song "Wonder Why" I decided to send a message to them to see if I could touch base with them...... of course this has a been what seems a lifetime ago.... so they were no longer there. Still...the lady who responded to me had asked if I would like to make a testimonial in regards to my experience of being there and how the facility helped to make a difference during such a Life changing event! I of course said " YES ". Now that I am older and can reflect on the positive moments of my Life that had impacted and stayed with me this entire time ...that was one of them. Hopefully my testimony could help to encourage one of the youth that is going through their own challenging time.
I believe that in the circle of Life we are born, we take many roads and twisting paths, gain a lot of experience and knowledge that can be shared and can make a positive impact on our youth or even on society itself. We are living examples everyday that can have a major influence on the Youth of today. So....I figure now is the time for me to share my own story with one of them that chooses to hear or might even need to hear. After all Peeps..... it all start with us! In order for change to happen..........somebody has to take that first step.
Peeps have an awesome Thursday and I will catch you on the flipside!
