Good Morning Peeps!

Good Morning Peeps!

Rise and Shine! It's a new day full of unlimited opportunities! Once you step out your door.....well....anything is possible! This keeps running through my mind this morning as I sip on my Hazelnut coffee. What a tasty cup it is!!!!

Last night after a long day at work and feeling pretty stretched as far as my physical body is concerned...I had decided to stay home and rest. Well....I was well on my way to getting comfortable when I saw a post from one of my friends about a songwriting contest that they would be competing in.....right away I thought...Oh I have to go and support her! So I headed out there, but to find out it was actually next Monday! I thought well cool...we can hang and listen to the other songwriters perform. In discussion she asked if I was going to play! Honestly the thought hadn't crossed my mind....but once she put the bug in my ear....my musical self was now wanting to....but with hesitation because it was a contest with judges! Now that made me very nervous, because the last contest I performed in....which was when I first started to play...was a train wreck and that memory ran through my head. Still...a lot has changed since then and I have so much more confidence now. Even as I say that...the fear was almost as intense as the first time. This is where encouragement from my friend helped to remind me that....hey...I got this! Did it stop the adrenaline and shakiness...no....but it did boost a strong reminder that I am just getting up there to play songs that I play a song that I play all the time and that it's about just doing it and having fun. So I did....they called me up and I gave the best that I could. What was really cool is that I performed "Hitch A Ride" and I saw Big Vinnie(One of the Judges) getting into the chorus and when I came down to the breakdown of the chorus.....well Gretchen Wilson (one of the judges) was singing along. OMG! That was cool! Afterwards, when it was all said and done! I realized that this big group of extremely talented songwriters and performers all there to hear or play their music just like me. Yes...all kinds of different levels of talent in the room but we all had two things in common. Music and that we all are just everyday people!

People it is easy to get intimidated by others because of there status or success. But when it comes down to it....they all put there pants on one leg at a time! Plus...don't let intimidation stop you from doing anything....because you never know what you will miss!

Peeps have an awesome Tuesday and I will catch you on the flipside!
