Good Morning Peeps!
This morning is another cool 60 degree morning that required sweats to walk Stretch to the dog park . Not a big fan of the cooler weather...but...the morning dew and cool mixed together makes for a beautiful fresh start of the day. That is totally awesome and welcomed! Hey...there is a compromise for everything, so why not see the brighter side of it! Sure does make it easier to take in the changes with an open heart and open mind!
Last night I stepped out to Nolan's for my second time entering the songwriters competition. Again there were so many talented songwriters in the room, but this time I was in good company with my Music Peeps Opal Justice, Efron White and Brittany Mason. I still have that nervousness about contests...but knowing I was not alone and had the support of my friends, cut the tension in half! Well one person in our group one 2nd place last night! Efron White was the rockin' winner with his song "Long Haul". We all were so happy for him!
I am so blessed to be surrounded by some very truly talented songwriters.
Still I had a moment last night where a young woman approached me after performing my song "Everyday" with some very inspiring words! First thing she said was that she was moved by the song right away. She began to explain her disabilities and an organization that she is apart of called Best Buddies! She had asked if I would be interested in playing for them sometime. I told of course I would. Than she continued to tell me how moved she was by my song in such a genuine way. Folks...this moment moved me and rose above the contest. She is why I performed there last night. So with a grateful heart...I decided to give her one of my cd's. She was so surprised and moved...which moved me even more!
Last night wasn't about winning a contest...nope...it was about reaching out to someone with my song who truly needed to hear the words and spending time with my friends and making new ones!
Goes to show that the roads traveled are not set in stone and that anything can and will happen. I thank God that they are so open! Times like this are rare treasures that mean the most!
Peeps have an awesome day and I will catch you on the flipside!
