Good Morning Peeps!
My hazelnut coffee is tasting so wonderfully delicious this early Monday morning here in the Music City! Especially after having a late night last night at the Commodore Grill celebrating Debi Champions13th year Anniversary with such an amazing gathering of songwriters. Truly I honestly forgot that I was going to play because I was so caught up with talking with so many of my songwriting Peeps and listening to some very talented songwriters who have had a Life long history of hit songs in there pockets. Talk about humility....When I did get to perform I thought to myself....wow....what a treat and a privilege to perform on the same stage with some of these iconic songwriters. Made me realize how green I still am...that even though my time out performing and writing has been only 7yrs....it doesn't even measure to the 60 yr milestone experience of many of the writers in that room. One of the songwriters "Jerry Foster" who is 81yrs old has had 75 hit songs recorded. Omg...he had to have written 10 times the amount of songs to get to the 75 hit songs ...I'm sure. So.... he was just one example of the talent in that room last night.... there are many others who have had several hit songs performed by well known artist.
One thing that caught my attention as I was talking with one of my Music Peeps was that the ones who have been down the road there and back and were in the room last night....I wonder if they stop and think of where they came from and their first experience of walking into their first writers night and the their own story that happened in that very room.
Thinking to myself....I hope that God willing no matter where my musical path takes me...I hope that I will never lose sight of my Journey, the Adventures, and the people who were a part of the music I created and a big part of my Life as I traveled down the road of creating my own music and sharing my own voice.
